The Tenant Fee Act came into force on 1st June 2019.
It’s not just about banning fees to tenants…
The Tenant Fee Act became law on 1st June 2019.
There are many aspects to the Act that all tenants need to be aware of so that they don’t end up handing over that hard earned cash when they don’t need to.
There are 3 main aspects of the Act that will primarily affect what a tenant has to pay to an agent or landlord. These are Tenant Fees, Tenancy Deposits and Holding Deposits.
Don’t assume that your agent or landlord know the details of the Act and what they can and can’t charge… you need to make sure that you know what you should be being charged so that you don’t overpay.
